Lobos lose 17-0 to 2-9 Colorado State, finishing the season on a nine-game losing streak.

They end the year 2-10 (0-8 MWC), three games behind the second-worst team in the MWC Mountain division.

UNM has lost 12 straight conference games, and have not won a game in November since 2016.

UNM is last in the nation in total offense for the second straight year.

UNM scored 41 points in the season opener vs. Maine of the FCS; in the 11 games after that, UNM averaged 10.5 points per game. After changing offensive coordinators mid-season, UNM scored 41 points in its last six games, with only two TDs, meaning that they will be looking for another OC this off-season.

In one RPI ranking, UNM is at the moment ranked 128th out of 131 FBS teams. If you include the FCS teams in those rankings, UNM is 154th overall, meaning that they are behind 26 FCS teams. http://realtimerpi.com/college_football/ncaaf_power_rankings_Full.html

Last 6 seasons:
2022: 2-10 (last place in MWC Mountain)
2021: 3-9 (last place)
2020: 2-5 (no division standings; 10th overall in MWC)
2019: 2-10 (last place)
2018: 3-9 (last place)
2017: 3-9 (last place )

UNM is 5-42 in Mountain West games during that stretch.

I'm a Lobo fan, but I don't see much reason to be optimistic going forward.
