Way-Too-Early 1A Team Rankings for 2023/2024

NMPreps early preseason rankings for the 2023/24 season. Today, we start our countdown of every New Mexico High School basketball team. #nmpreps

#37 Tse' Yi' Gai Dine Warriors (Cuba, NM)

Scoop: The three wins for the Dine Warriors (3-22 overall, 2-8 district) came at the hands of Northwest (No. 39). Despite struggle for the team they showed much improvement throughout the season. The good news like many featured from 37-39 is that they will return their entire roster. Adanian Werito (2026) lead the team in scoring with 15 points per game.

#38 Corona/Vaughn Cardinals

Scoop: The Cardinals went 0-13 in 2022/23 and looking to build off a young roster. Despite the amount of losses the Cardinals improved throughout the season and was able to get the offense going. The roster featured three 8th graders, five sophomores, one freshman, and one junior last season. If all return they could end the losing streak leading into to the season.

#39 Northwest Falcons (Shiprock, NM)

Scoop: The Falcons spent the 2022/2023 season in the cellar finishing 0-17 overall and 0-8 in district. The Falcons are currently on a 20 game losing streak dating back to the 2021/2022 season. The good news, They return all 11 players from last season off a roster that featured 2 (2024), 3 (2025), 4 (2026) and 2 (2027) members.

Note: Lake Arthur and San Jon did not play last season.
