HOPE CHRISTIAN - 4A STATE CHAMPS

Recap - The Hope Christian Huskies improve to 29-2 on the season winning their fourth consecutive state championship and sixth state title in the last seven years.

The Huskies came out hot to start the contest with a 15-4 run in the first quarter, finishing with a 21-9 lead at the end of the first. NMPreps.com Player of the Game Marcus Medina had 8 first quarter points on his way to a game high 25 points.

In the second half the Huskies continued to roll even with a small West Las Vegas run (West won the quarter 13-11). The Huskies got production from studs Jordan Leake (12 points) and Nelson Longmire (11 points).

The West Las Vegas Dons were led by Miguel Sena in a losing effort with 15 points.

This is the 14th state championship for head coach Jim Murphy the longtime Hope Christian head coach.
