Heard that at the AD meeting this week classifications were broken up to take a poll on sticking with 6 classifications or going back to 5. The majority of larger schools wanted to return to 5 and very small schools wanted to keep with 6.
Rumor is that they are going to keep it at 6 classifications for this upcoming 2 year cycle and will probably go back to 5 in 2018-2017. If this is the case any idea who might go up or drop down? I know the 40th count has not yet happened so all of this is only theoretical. Will Valley drop down to be like Del Norte? What about Alamo? Will PV and Farmington jump to 6A or will it just be one of them? If so who? Will Moriarty and Bernalillo drop to 4A and who will that push up: Bloomfeild, Kirtland, or Portales? What does this mean for specific sports or is all of this irrelevant?
