In the latest of the amazing (almost unbelievable) current winning streaks; Alamogordo has not beaten the Eagles in Tasker Arena since the 93-94 season. That was over 20 years ago. Tonight's game had some interesting factors. The spark plug for the Eagles was out with an ankle injury and the first guard off the bench has been sick for 21/2 days. No problem...The last post on the bench, Zach Munoz had an incredible breakout night scoring 22 points including 4 threes.
Alamo was a mystery to me. They are tall and look very athletic. Frankly they are a really good looking team as far as appearances are concerned. Anyway, Hobbs mauled them 102 to 44 in game that was over in just the first few minutes. That was a 58 point destruction. Think about that...if you give Hobbs just the winning margin then the Eagles still win the game by 14...58-44.
On a really sad note, the Hobbs girls game at Alamogordo was cancelled due to the sudden and shocking death today of Alamogordo's assistant coach. Hobbs held a moment of silence before the boy's game. Once again, you never know when your next breath is unexpectedly your last.
