APS split?

In the Albuquerque Journal and on 770 KOB the conversation has come up about splitting the Albuquerque Public School (APS) system again. With over 80,000 students it is the 13 largest school district in the country.

What affect, if any, do you think splitting the district would have on athletics in the Albuquerque area?
