I’m tired of the back and forth with the virus. It goes nowhere. I know the biggest issue that the Governor is having with this are the club coaches. I know they are worried about them ruining things for the rest of us. I wish they could ease restrictions for NMAA sanctioned events only. If we as coaches came up with a plan, what would yours look like? For me I would be willing to make a lot of changes and sacrifices if it meant getting back.
1. Establish definitive seasons. Only allow in season sports to workout. I’d be willing to give up my off season workouts if it meant we could have a real season.
2. Schedule based on the NMAAs plan they once had for bi-districts. This would limit travel from one part of the state to another which is an issue.
3. Set testing parameters and thresholds. As long as a sport doesn’t see a certain number of cases, let them continue.
4. Limit practice time. I’d be okay limiting practice times or days if it meant getting back.
