Best-case scenario: 5-5 overall. The Cougars would need to go perfect in the games we have them favored in this preseason - Onate, Highland, West Mesa, and Atrisco Heritage. They would then have to get a flip game against Sandia although they are the under-flip in the contest. The first game of the season could determine their playoff fate.
Worst-Case scenario: 3-7 overall. The Cougars have plenty to replace in Marcus Steele. They are in a situation to rebuild this year but if we've learned anything during the Rod Williams era is that he can get the best out of his guys.
Over/Under: 4.5 wins. The tell all story could be on opening night for the Cougars. It is a tough order against a Sandia team that has some weapons along with a state champion head coach. I'd lean to the UNDER on the fact that they will be a rebuild.
