Breaking: Artesia Football Coach Cooper Henderson has been named the National Coach of the Year by the National Federation of State High School Associations.
Henderson has coached 27 seasons at Artesia High School and is a graduate of Eastern New Mexico University. Henderson led the Bulldogs to the 2015 Class 5A State Football Championship defeating the Centennial Hawks 42-34. Over the last two seasons Artesia is 24-2 and overall Artesia has won 29 State Football Championships.
