What happened last night, Wednesday...... In 5A basketball the hottest team in the classification in terms of earning a state tournament bid, the Atrisco Heritage Jaguars, continues their winning ways with a win, 58-54. Another big win last night was Los Lunas beating Santa Fe, 67-51 and moving into the top spot in District 5-5A. Is Santa Fe on the outside now?
Dude from last night.... The big Los Lunas win last night was led by senior Josiah Navarro putting in big-time numbers - 25 points, 8 rebounds, and 6 assists.

What to Watch tonight, Thursday.....
5A basketball doesn't have much excitement when thinking postseason. Most games tonight are of teams that sit on the outside of the state tournament. Deming (2-6) could be a spoiler if they upset Alamogordo (7-1) or West Mesa (1-3) with La Cueva (5-0) but that's as likely as me running a mile (shoot at this point walking a mile, not happening).
4A hoops tonight has the intrigue folks. No. 4 (NMPreps Rankings) Kirtland Central will travel to Gallup (No. 5) with hopes of not only locking up the district championship but possibly the 1-seed in the 4A state tournament. If Gallup wants to win the DC they need to beat Kirtland by 5 or more. St. Pius X (3-4) technically still a bubble team will need to avoid another upset loss, this time they face Valencia (3-5). Espanola Valley (5-3) and Los Alamos (6-2) will do some work tonight in what could be another unofficial DC; Los Alamos would have to win by 22-points though after being beat by 21-points on April 10th at Espanola.
3A doesn't have a lot in terms of bids or bubbles but NMMI (5-3) and Tularosa (6-1) could be a playoff seed game. In 2A hoops Texico (4-2) and Santa Rosa (7-1) square off and this could be a game between playoff teams.
