LAST NIGHT - FERBUARY 8TH

Key Win: Bernalillo 58, Gallup 57. The Spartans could not afford a loss to a team outside the top-16. They also have been in the hunt for closing out a tight game. This keeps in the playoffs conversation.

In the Hunt: West Mesa 45, Farmington 44. The Mustangs earned another crucial district win and peaking at the right time. They are now in the top-16 when looking at the state tournament bids.

District Scramble: Valley 64, Hope Christian 56; Albuquerque Academy 63, Del Norte 61. Both Valley and Academy earned wins over teams currently ahead of them in the district standings. Each night this district continues to be a battle of some of the top teams in the classification having to battle in the same district. Valley needed a win and earned it.

Bubble Buster: Deming 54, Centennial 45. Centennial drops a crucial game when looking at the top-16 seeds in the 5A state tournament bracket watch. This loss could keep them on the outside when the brackets are released.

Tiger Way: Los Lunas 68, Santa Fe 62. The Los Lunas Tigers entered the season ranked inside the top-10 and then dropped some games early but now they are making a run into the state tournament with a chance at a top seed. This could wrap up another district championship.

Flexing: Bosque 62, Cottonwood Classical 46. The Bosque Bobcats are peaking at the right time and stay in the hunt to do battle with Sandia Prep for the district championship. In the same classification Robertson flexed in Santa Fe Indian, 73-53.

TODAY - FEBRUARY 9TH

1-5A SHOWDOWN: The Rio Rancho Rams (12-8) are searching for a resume win to get back into the top-10 conversation. They head to Atrisco Heritage (17-4) today hoping for a major upset over a top-5 ranked Jaguars squad.

3-2A KING OF THE HILL: Both the Tularosa Wildcats (18-2) and Lordsburg Mavericks (14-2) sit with a perfect record in district play. The winner will take a lead of the district heading into the final week of the season. They play again in 6-days but today is round 1 of a possible three game series.

SEED GAME: Sandia (13-7) and Eldorado (10-9) are both in a battle for a seed in the 8-12 range - Sandia has an opportunity to get into the top-8. Right now both teams are in the hunt for the district regular title and automatic bid. La Cueva (5-1), Sandia (5-1) and Eldorado (4-1) are the current district standings for 2-5A.

SMALL SCHOOL BATTLE: Menaul (15-3) will travel to Bosque (12-5) in a 3A vs 2A game in the Albuquerque Metro area. Both teams are top teams in their classification and looking to earn a resume win - if one becomes a DC this could help their criteria.
