Final Four - Wednesday, May 5th
No. 1 Robertson vs No. 4 Sandia Prep, 7 pm (at Robertson HS)
No. 2 Hot Springs vs No. 3 Navajo Prep, 7:30 pm (at Bernalillo HS)
Scoop: Matthew Gonzales (Robertson HS), Sam Henderson (Sandia Prep), and Verrels Lukman (Hot Springs) are all finalist for the 3A Player of the Year and we get to watch them in this years 3A Final Four. Robertson, the 1-seed, is looking to shake off doubters and a slow start in the opening round against a favorite in Sandia Prep, 4-seed. The Sundevils had to comeback from a sluggish start also to overcome first round opponent St. Michael's. Hot Springs rolled in the opener behind Lukman and forward Randin Gossett (2022). The silent underdog is Navajo Prep which overcame another first-round upset at the hands of NMMI, winning by a point.

No. 2 Jal vs No. 3 Pecos, 5:30 pm (at Portales HS)
Scoop: The top-half of the bracket is an unknown match-up as of right now. Mescalero Apache (12-1) enters the contest out of the southern district and beating Tularosa in the first round. Rehoboth Christian (13-0) earned an easy opening round win over Monte Del Sol of Santa Fe. Jake Zylstra (2021) was the player to know entering this season for Rehoboth and now has them a game away from playing for the state championship. The bottom half of the bracket features Jal (13-0) and four-time reigning state champion Pecos (11-2). This one has a state title feel to it and you can be sure that my eyes will be glued to this contest tonight.
