Goddard/Miyamura Scrimmage
By Kyle Henderson of NMPreps.com

Recap: Thursday in Albuquerque at Wilson Stadium Goddard took on Miyamura in a week zero scrimmage. On the very first play from scrimmage Lukas Gutierrez took a pitch from quarterback Cameron Stevenson followed his blockers and out-ran everyone for a 60-yard touchdown. Goddard would have a few more nice drives and their new quarterback Cameron Stevenson who is just a sophomore looked good at times connecting on a few passes that went for big yards. On Goddard's very first play on defense, Gaylon Young at Defensive End made an outstanding one-hard grab for an interception and raced down the field 40-yards for a touchdown. The positives for Miyamura was AJ Starkovich, really feel he could be the best overall player in District 1-5A. It does not look as though Miyamura will take too big of a drop off and I would say they scrimmaged Goddard better this year than last year.

Ethan Featherstone - Goddard - LB
