This is my take entering week 7 on the 6A New Mexico Quarterbacks. Agree or disagree, let me know. All good.

Pictured is Las Cruces Quarterback Kameron Miller who recently committed to the New Mexico Lobos.

1. Kameron Miller - Las Cruces
Proven winner, gamer, clutch, exceptional playmaker, Lobo Commit

2. Gabe Ortega - Cleveland
Incredibly fast, good touch in the red-zone, leader on the field,

3. Josh Williams - Volcano Vista
Poised, mature, excellent pocket presence, better runner than people know

4. Isaac Amaya - Hobbs
His highlight reel is so fun to watch. Great vision down field, elusive, playmaker.

5. Jayce Jackson - Eldorado
Stock jump tremendously against Cleveland. I took a buddy of mine (from Goddard) to watch the Cleveland/Eldorado game (he has little current football knowledge). I asked him who he would pick between Jackson and Ortega, he said tough call, but picked Jackson. Threw the ball very well, played like a proven senior.

6. Kyle Hooper - Alamogordo
Only a junior and is hitting 300+ nearly every game. He’s improved so much since I first met him. Good deep ball, love his winning attitude, kid wants to win bad. Needs to put on 20 pounds imo.

7. Steve Bailey - Rio Rancho
Really been impressed with the season he is having. Had a few 300+ yard games and is playing well at a very high level each week. Eager to see him down the stretch in big time games.

8. Joeray Valencia - Mayfield
Had some big games this year and has some large shoes to fill taking over for Kavika. He’s seemed poised in big games, which is impressive for a 1st year starter.

9. Daulton Hatley - Clovis
Doesn’t get to throw the ball 30 times a game like others, but he has multiple D-2 schools that have already offered. Good passer and runner, would like to see what he could do in a more pass friendly scheme.

10. Dante Urrea - Deming
I personally don’t see him as a quarterback the next level, he’s more of a defensive back or slot. For Deming he’s got the job done as he is their best athlete. Check out his highlights on hudl, kid can make some wicked plays running from the shot-gun.

Best of the rest

11. Cannon Chavez - Cibola
12. Orlando Perez - Manzano
13. Dominic Johnson - Highland
14. Chris Campbell - La Cueva
15. Riley Padilla - Albuquerque
