___________________________________________________________________________________________________March 5th: My Class 4A/3A Boys 1st Round Predictions
Class 4A Boys 1st Round Games
5PM - No. 16 Hot Springs @ No. 1 Hope
The Pick: Hope. All Hope Christian in this one. Go be a 30-40 point spread
5PM - No. 9 Bloomfield @ No. 8 Kirtland
The Pick: Kirtland. Can't believe these two are playing again, but I somewhat like it. Haha. Take Kirtland in a close game.
6PM - No. 12 Thoreau @ No. 5 Portales
The Pick: Portales. I think Portales can make a run this year, however they cannot sleep on Thoreau....
6PM - No. 13 Robertson @ No. 4 St. Mikes
The Pick: St. Mike's. No coach turns it up in the playoffs like Ron Geyer. Expecting St. Mike's to keep it simple and advance to the quarterfinals.
7PM - No. 14 SFIS @ No. 3 Taos
The Pick: Taos. Clearly the Tigers are the favorite, but SFIS has played a tough schedule and is battle tested. Difference in this game is SFIS is on the road in a hostile environment.
5PM - No. 11 Shiprock @ No. 6 Pojoaque
The Pick: Pojoaque. I know, I have not picked an upset yet. Pojoaque is very talented and rolling right now.
5PM - No. 10 Cobre @ No. 7 Silver
The Pick: Cobre. This game is a true toss up. They have played 4 times already this year! Neither team is ready for baseball season just yet...
5PM - No. 15 Bosque @ No. 2 West LV
The Pick: West LV. DJ Bustos goes off in the opening round.
Class 3A Boys 1st Round Games
6PM - No. 16 Cuba @ No. 1 Mesilla Valley
The Pick: Mesilla Valley. Jeff Adler goes for 40+
6PM - No. 9 Dulce @ No. 8 Santa Rosa
The Pick: Santa Rosa. I do like this match up though. Dulce is a sleeper and I think they'll give SR a good first round test.
3PM - No. 12 Eunice @ No. 5 SF Prep
The Pick: SF Prep. I almost picked Eunice, but SF Prep has Ian Anderson who Eunice will have a hard time dealing with.
6PM - No. 13 Newcomb @ No. 4 Tucumcari
The Pick: Tucumcari. The Rattlers are much too talented to have trouble this early.
5PM - No. 14 NACA @ No. 3 Laguna Acoma
The Pick: Laguna Acoma. Hawks make a big statement in round one.
3PM - No. 11 Pecos @ No. 6 Texico
The Pick: Texico. This is a good match up. Road trip is going to be tough for Pecos to deal with, but this is a game where I could see Pecos hanging around until the end.
6PM - No. 10 Lordsburg @ No. 7 Loving
The Pick: Loving. Lordsburg makes the track across the state to play a very good Loving team. Like the Falcons all the way.
6PM - No. 15 Tohatchi @ No. 2 Clayton
The Pick: Clayton. Tohatchi makes a long trip and loses big.

March 3rd: My Class 6A Boys 1st Round Predictions
No. 16 La Cueva @ No. 1 Hobbs
The Pick: Hobbs. Tasker is going to be very unfriendly to La Cueva Saturday
No. 9 Las Cruces @ No. 8 West Mesa
The Pick: Las Cruces. Tough game to pick obviously. Dawgs should have a chip on their shoulder for being district champs and having to travel.
No. 12 Onate @ No. 5 Valley
The Pick: Valley. I think Onate keeps it close, but Valley is just playing some outstanding basketball right now. No way they lose at home in round one.
No. 13 Gadsden @ No. 4 Rio Rancho
The Pick: Rio Rancho. Watch the upset here. The Rams could be complacent after grabbing a top 4 spot. Gadsden is a very dangerous team with nothing to lose.
No. 14 Rio Grande @ No. 3 Carlsbad
The Pick: Carlsbad. I like the Cavemen this year and think they control this game after halftime.
No. 11 Cibola @ No. 6 Albuquerque
The Pick: Albuquerque. Like the Bulldogs, but depending on which Cibola team shows up, I wound not be surprised if this one goes 5 quarters.
No. 10 Sandia @ No. 7 Volcano Vista
The Pick: Sandia. Very hard to pick against Volcano Vista at home and likely they are going to sit on the ball. Sandia has changed their game over the last 30-days and could be a real sleeper.
No. 15 Atrisco Heritage @ No. 2 Cleveland
The Pick: Cleveland. Atrisco Heritage is not your typical No. 15 team, they are very good and while they don't have the depth that Cleveland does they do have experience and great coach.

March 2nd: My Class 5A Boys 1st Round Predictions
No. 16 Capital @ No. 1 Centennial
The Pick: Centennial. Just too much firepower from the Hawks.
No. 9 Bernalillo @ No. 8 Del Norte
The Pick: Bernalillo. Closer than their last match up though. Glad to see these two meeting yet again.
No. 12 Lovington @ No. 5 Espanola
The Pick: Espanola. However, Lvt. has size and will keep this game close. If this game was in Albuquerque I would likely pick the upset.
No. 13 Artesia @ No. 4 St. Pius X
The Pick: St. Pius X. Again, I think home court comes into play here. Artesia however is 100% healthy
No. 14 Los Lunas @ No. 3 Roswell
The Pick: Roswell. Sorry Tiger fans, you're in for a long night.
No. 11 Piedra Vista @ No. 6 Grants
The Pick: Grants. Grants has proven they are better than PV and will again take care of business.
No. 10 Goddard @ No. 7 Farmington
The Pick: Goddard. I like this upset pick, but what makes me unconfident is the fact that Goddard has to travel near the length of the state to pull this off.
No. 15 Belen @ No. 2 Gallup
The Pick: Gallup. Want to see how Gallup comes out in round one.
