Albuquerque Business Weekly is reporting that he City of ABQ approved $5 million to convert the East exhibit hall of the Convention Center into a "retractable arena" that would seat 10,000. There's also plan to build a new parking structure.
There's no timeline on when this would happen, but assuming it would take two years or less, this could be an alternative to the Santa Ana Star Center for NMAA basketball, wrestling and volleyball.
