Abby Vasquez, 2024 (Alamogordo High School): Another freshman that earned plenty of experience last season starting as an 8th grader. This trio could make for an Elite Eight appearance. |
Amelia Gallegos, 2021 (St. Pius X School): Tough and saavy point guard for the Sartans of St. Pius X. She does a lot of everything for the Sartans and will be a player to know by seasons end in 2021 for class 4A. |
Angelyn Aranda, 2022 (Volcano Vista High School): The Hawks, as mentioned are very talented this season and Aranda is part of that special group. |
Bailey Rasmussen, 2021 (Pierda Vista High School): The inside presence of Rasmussen will provide some serious depth on the Panthers this season. She averaged 7 points and 6 rebounds per game last seaosn. |
Briana Marquez, 2021 (West Las Vegas High School): The Lady Dons made a run last season and with Marquez bringing back her 18.3 points per game, they could play late into March. |
Cailee Crawford, 2021 (Highland High School): Crawford helped the Hornets reach the Final Four in 2020 and is regarded as one of the best players. She can take over any game, she chooses. Crawford scored 18.7 points per game last season. |
Carolina Romero, 2022 (La Cueva High School): Romero averaged 9.2 points and 2.2 rebounds per game for the Bears last season. Part of the group that went 25-4 last season and reached the Final Four. |
Ceilna Watson, 2021 (Piedra Vista High School): The senior signed with Adams State this week and the top-10 talent in the state will look to guide a top ranked Piedra Vista again this season. She averaged 10 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists per game. |
Elise Turrubiates, 2021 (Hobbs High School): Returning to the Eagles after helping them win their second state championship in three years. Turrubiates made the all-state team and will be a forward to watch this season. |
Ethena Sena, 2021 (Capital High School): Part of this Jaguar duo that has a chance to make some waves this season. She averaged 11 points and 8 rebounds per game. |
Feelena Candelaria, 2021 (Los Lunas High School): The least talked about prospect on the girls side but one that deserve more recognition. Candelaria is a force inside the paint and arguably the best post player entering the season. Solid footwork, aggressive, and finishes around the basket. The Lady Tigers are back-to-back state champs. |
Giannah Aragon, 2021 (Volcano Vista High School): Part of a very talented Volcano Vista team this season is Aragon. She averaged 9 points and 3 rebounds last season on a very deep team. |
Gillian Roybal, 2021 (Valley High School): The Valley Vikings are coming off a solid season and Roybal led the way. She averaged 13 points , 3 rebounds and 2 steals per game. |
Hailey Martin, 2021 (Melrose High School): Martin an all-state player will look at guiding Melrose to another title after going 27-4 and winning it all in 2020. |
Hermanie Dominiguez, 2022 (Deming High School) Likely the biggest secret and most underrated prospect heading into the season is Dominiguez. We seen her in Artesia last season and clearly one of the top players in the state. She helped guide Deming to an 18-11 record and state tournament bid. |
Hannah Straight, 2021 (Grants High School): A three-year starter for the Pirates - Straight will be a lone senior looking to guide the way for the Pirates in 2021. A back to back All-district player that puts in 12 points, 5 assists and 2 steals per game as the point guard. |
Jaelyn Bates, 2023 (Volcano Vista High School): Bates could be the top ranked 2023 player when the official NMPreps/Rivals New Mexico player rankings come out. She scored 16.4 points per game last season for the Hawks. |
Jordan Louis, 2021 (Navajo Pine High School): Led the way with 25 points per game and looking to lead a very talented Navajo Pine Warriors team in 2021. |
Juliana Aragon, 2023 (Bernalillo High School): Aragon led the Spartans to the Elite Eight for the first time in program history of the modern state tournament format. Aragon a sound point guard scored 21.8 points per game this season. |
Justyse Martin, 2021 (Alamogordo High School): Martin, an all-district player last season will be the leader of what could be a very talented and young roster this coming season. |
Kabreya Garcia Romero, 2022 (Santa Fe High School): Guard that had a nice year for the Demons as a sophomore. She will board, makes the extra pass, and penetrates the lane with a nice floater. |
Kamalani Anitielu, 2024 (Farmington High School): The Scorpions will have two of the top shooters and a household rivalry as the sisters with provide a double feature next season. Anitielu averaged 12 points per game as a freshman last season. |
Kennedy Brown, 2022 (Volcano Vista High School): The Volcano Vista Hawks have one of the deepest teams and the 2022 class is five strong; Brown being fourth from the 2022 class listed just proves how deep. Brown a smart player that does a little of it all for the Hawks (4 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals per game). |
Kiiyani Anitielu, 2022 (Farmington High School): One of the better shooters in the state will return this season after guiding the Scorpions to the Elite Eight. Anitielu lead the team in scoring with 22.2 points per game. |
Kylyie Paden, 2022 (Portales High School): The Portales duo is just the cherry on top for the loaded Rams of Portales. Paden could be regarded as one of the top forwards returning in 4A basketball this season. She had a double-double in the opening rounds of the state tournament (15 points and 10 rebounds). |
Larissa Laborin, 2022 (Centennial High School) 5-foot-9 guard that is consider one of the top in the state of New Mexico. Helped the Hawks to a 27-5 record and Elite Eight showing last season. |
Lanae Billy, 2022 (Piedra Vista High School): One of the best spot up shooters in New Mexico will only be a junior but will be a four-year varsity player. Billy averaged 16 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 steals per game. The Panthers were 29-4 last season. |
Madison Miller, 2021 (Lordsburg High School): Miller helped the Mavericks to the Final Four and 24-wins last season. She was dominant with 18 points and 13 rebounds per game. |
Mandy Crisp, 2021 (Clayton High School): Led the Yellowjackets to 17-wins averaging 17 points per game. Crisp will be an early preseason favorite for player of the year in 2A. |
Margarita Salas, 2022 (Mayfield High School): The Trojans graduate a big group from their 24-6 team leaving Salas to take the lead. As a sophomore on a crowded up class roster she was second in scoring with 10 points per game, and 2.6 rebounds. |
Maria "CeCe" Barela, 2021 (Eldorado High School): Top-10 player and player on the map since her freshman season is Barela. She can shoot, penetrate and has good vision. Nice court general. |
Mia Guest, 2021 (Los Lunas High School): Part of the Tiger trio that is looking to win their third straight state championship. Guest was the player of the year in her district this season. |
Monique Jackson, 2021 (West Mesa High School): One of the more confident three point shooters in the state. Jackson has serious range, think a step or two off the HS three point line. She is very sound with the ball in her hands and will have to be as she becomes the focus of the 2021 Mustangs. Stat line: 11 points, 2 steals, 2 boards, and 2 assist per game. |
Natalia Chavez, 2022 (Volcano Vista High School): She has size (5-10 guard), range, and a motor that puts her in the early conversation for top overall player next season. Chavez averaged 18 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 assist per game guiding the Hawks to a 26-3 record. |
Natalie Jojola, 2021 (Los Lunas High School): Jojola has a different gear than most players in New Mexico and can go off on any given night. She is a fearless knockdown scorer and the two year starter will look to help the Lady Tigers repeat as state champs (4A state champs in 2020 & 2019). |
Reagan Madonia, 2022 (Albuquerque Academy): The Chargers will go on the shoulders of the 5-7 guard who caught the eye at several tournaments this season. 2nd team all-district as a sophomore among other accolades. |
Rebecca Sorensen, 2021 (Capital High School): Averaged a near double-double (12 points, 9 rebounds) last season for the Jaguars and brings some excitement to what could be a good Jaguar team in 2021. |
Riley Clavel, 2021 (Roy/Mosquero High School): Roy/Mosquero had a solid season going 22-5 last season and with Clavel returning could make them to a deeper run after reaching the Elite Eight in 2020. She averaged 21 points per game as a junior. |
Rylie Ottmann, 2022 (La Cueva High School): The La Cueva Bears could have one of their best groups with the 2022 class. Ottmann, a 5-6 guard averaged 9 points, 3 steals and 5 rebounds per contest. |
Savannah Lewis, 2021 (Hope Christian School): Lewis returns after making the second team all-state list. The Huskies will have a new head coach this season and Lewis is likely to be the focus as she enters her senior season. |
Skkyla Guck, 2021 (Cobre High School): Not to be forgotten is Guck whom is tucked away in the sw corner of New Mexico at Cobre High School. Guck averaged 24 points per game last season and looking to guide them further this season. |
Sydney Lessentine, 2024 (Alamogordo High School): The Lady Tigers have a duo from the 2024 class that is the future of this program. Lessentine a post has plenty of upside. |
Taris Rippee, 2022 (Portales High School): An impressive showing in the state tournament in 2020, Rippee is a guard to watch. She can knock it down, she can penetrate and just make things happen. |
Trinity Herrera, 2021 (Pecos High School): The Panthers won 22-games last season and now a year removed from their state championship they'll look to be a favorite again. Herrera averaged 20 points per game and 8 rebounds last season. |
Viane Cumber, 2021 (Sandia High School): The must-see prospect entering the 2020/2021 season will be Cumber who is fresh of a Gatorade Player of the Year season. She dropped 23 points, 11 rebounds and 3 steals per game. |
Wisdom Anthony, 2023 (Hobbs High School): A two-year starter for the Hobbs Lady Eagles, Wisdom Anthony is one of the most known players in the state after guiding the Eagles to another title behind a 29-1 season. |
