We're right in the mix of district hoops and tonight will have plenty of top matchups.

Defending Home Court - Cibola at Piedra Vista - Piedra Vista had shaky start to district play by both defeating Volcano Vista but falling in three overtimes to Cleveland. Facing a tough Cibola team that is still dangerous, PV will have their hands full tonight.
[TIL: Did you know Panthers aren't a real species? They're actually jaguars or cougars. Look it up.]

Lady Bulldawgs' Woes Solved? - Las Cruces at Hobbs - Las Cruces may have figured out how to play without guard/forward Janessa Johnson (injury). They've been playing better since losing to Centennial with winning three straight. But they'll have a tough "Task'" tonight heading into face a tough Hobbs team.

Academy's Fate - Albuquerque Academy at Espanola Valley - Losing the stunner to Los Alamos has put a dent into the Lady Chargers' plans at a district sweep. Now with first place in district back on the line, Academy can only hope to slow down an Espanola Valley team that looks to be warming up at the right time. EV's hopes at a district title are still alive if they can get the win and finish the rest of district play undefeated.

Lovington For Real? Lovington at Roswell - Lovington stunned Goddard and grabbed the win to move into a tie for first with Roswell. Now the Lady Wildcats will look to see if they can perform a similar feat against the #1 team in 5A. Roswell has been darn near-perfect all season long going 7-1 at home. First place in district is on the line in this matchup.

Aztec Rallying? - Aztec at Kirtland Central - Since losing three straight to start district play and falling to last place, Aztec was able to follow winning two key games to move back to third place in district. Tonight they'll head to Kirtland Central in the second half of district play to see if they can keep the momentum going. A win won't launch them to second place, but rather put distance between them and Miyamura if the Lady Patriots can't pull one off at home versus Bloomfield.

Showdown in 4A - Portales at Hope Christian - The No. 2 Lady Rams make the road trip to Albuquerque to take on the No. 1 ranked Hope Christian Lady Huskies in a battle for first. Both teams normally don't see each other until the state playoffs, but this year is different with Hope moving into Portales' district. Expect this to be one heckuva battle between two stellar girls hoops programs in the state.
