NMPREPS POSITION BREAKDOWNS
NMPreps annual New Mexico high school football player rankings. Today, we look at the top running backs for the 2023 season. #nmpreps
2024
Peyton Greathouse, Artesia High School (Artesia, NM)
Stat Line: Good natural athlete with nice size (5'10'' and 170 lbs) to continue to excel for the Bulldogs. Greathouse led the 2024 class in receiving yards last season with 1,309 yards. He finished with 12 touchdowns on the season.
Drew Perez, Bloomfield High School (Bloomfield, NM)
Stat Line: The Bobcats receiver played a huge role in the state championship season in 2022. Perez finished the season with 1,102 yards and 17 touchdowns. During the playoffs Perez had two games with over 100 yards (105 vs Moriarty; 104 vs Taos). Two games stood out last season vs Valencia (191 yards, 4 TDs) and Kirtland Central (197 yards, 4 TDs). Perez will again be a top target for Bloomfield.
2025
Latavious Morris, Atrisco Heritage Academy (Albuquerque, NM)
Stat Line: Perhaps the most talented prospect in the class. Morris finished the 2022 season with 811 receiving yards and 8 touchdowns for the Jaguars last season. A huge jump from 205 receiving yards as a freshmen in 2021.
Michael Beck, Farmington High School (Farmington, NM)
Stat Line: Beck really came into his own after the mid-point last season finishing over 100 yards receiving in 5 of the final 6 games. Beck led the 2025 class with 1,005 yards on the season. Nice acceleration and known for the long ball -- in a playoff game against Carlsbad he had a 95 yard reception.
Note: NMPreps will continue to release players throughout the summer leading up to the 2023 season. Please post or email (grinejosh@yahoo.com) nominations.
