Top Five Sophomore Guards
1. Anthony Chavez 2018 PG Valley High School (Albuquerque, NM)
Anthony Chavez is already being talked about as one of the top players in the state of New Mexico. Right now averaging 13 points and 2.4 assists per game along with 1 steal per contest.
2. Markus Collins 2018 PG/SG Las Cruces High School (Las Cruces, NM)
Collins is having a very good 2016 portion of the season where he has went off for 29 points against La Cueva and 23 the following night. Only 5'5 the shooting guard creates his own shot and can knock down the wide open shot automatically with confidence.
3. Jayden Philips 2018 SG Cleveland High School (Rio Rancho, NM)
Jayden is one of the better athletes in the bunch that is suited better as a wing or off guard. He could develop into a solid guard and become a great slasher.
4. Diego Ortega 2018 G Atrisco Heritage Academy (Albuquerque, NM)
Ortega is another guard that is starting to play well as the season develops. Scoring 5.6 points per contest, 2 rebounds and 1 assist per game.
5. Elijah Herron 2018 G/W La Cueva High School (Albuquerque, NM)
The stretch guard is another player that could develop into one of the top overall players in the state of New Mexico. No numbers posted for La Cueva but you can tell by his play that he could become a solid wing and overall contributor.
6. Keyshawn Webb G Highland HS (Albuquerque, NM) - Playing very well lately, had 13 points last week. Averages around 5 ppg game.
