Rank 'Em: Top Player Performances This Season

Today, we release our 'Rank 'Em' looking at the Top Player Performance to this point in the season. We looked at Week One through Week Ten of the season, or the mid-point of the season.


Week One - Week Four: Top 20 in the First Four

1. Johnny McCants, Sr, Onate HS
Week Four: McCants had a great showing at the Joe Armijo Tournament and a semi-final win over Carlsbad with 23 points and 13 rebounds along with 8 blocks and 4 steals.

2. Daniel Amador, Sr, Roswell HS

Week Four: Welcome Daniel Amador to the high school radar as he goes for 45-points in a win over Bernalillo.

3. Johnny McCants, Sr, Onate HS
Week Three: McCants continues to dominate on the season with a 20 point night against top ranked Valley.

4. Anthony Chavez, So, Valley HS
Week Three: Chavez, the sophomore sensation, scores 26 points and 7 assists against Cibola.

5. Clay Patterson, Jr, Rio Rancho HS
Week Four: Patterson scored 23 points, 5 assists and 3 rebounds against Gallup.

6. Johnny McCants, Sr, Onate HS
Week Two: McCants threw down four dunks on the night on his way to 19 points, 10 rebounds and 6 blocks against Los Lunas.

7. Esteban Martinez, Sr, Atrisco Heritage Academy
Week Three: Martinez, scores 25 points against one of the top teams in New Mexico in Hope Christian.

8. Uriah Arellano, Sr, Espanola Valley HS
Week One: Arellano made a name for himself early with a 29-point performance on the road in a win over Gallup.

9. Clay Patterson, Jr, Rio Rancho HS
Week Three: Patterson opens his candidacy on the season with a 25 points, 6 assist night against Highland.

10. Jeremy Anaya, Jr, Capital HS
Week Three: Taking on a top 10 team in 5A -Goddard, Anaya went off for 23 points.

11. Jorell Mirabal, So, Magdalena HS
Week Three: 35 points on the night with a hot 7 3-pointers hit on the night.

12. Desmond Carpenter, Jr, Cibola HS
Week Two: Carpenter, was on our radar but had a great showing to open the season with 24-points against Eldorado.

13. Juan Hurt, G, Rio Rancho HS
Week Three: One of the top players in the state opens up for 27 points in a win over Highland.

14. Jose Rodriguez, Jr, Rio Grande HS
Week Two: Unknown name coming into the season and he puts in 27-points to open the season in a win over Santa Fe.

15. Matt Vail, G, Grants HS
Week Three: Vail had a coming out party in March 2015 but followed it up with a week three game of 17 points and 7 steals against Piedra Vista.

16. John Paul Garcia, Sr, Tucumcari HS
Week Two: JP is regarded as one of the top players in the state of New Mexico and exploded on his opening night with 41-points and 8 assists.

17. Marshall Moore, Sr, Rio Grande HS
Week Four: Moore scores 20 points against Centennial.

18. Nathan Bates, Sr, Evangel Christian HS
Week One: Bates opened the season with a 41 point, 16 rebound and 6 steals night.

19. Carlos Xibille, Sr, New Mexico Military Institute
Week One: Xibilie makes the list after an impressive shooting night hitting 6-three pointers, finishing with 24 points on the night.

20. Michael Castillo, Sr, Hatch Valley HS
Week Two: Castillo made a name for himself hitting 4 3-pointers on his way to a game high 35-points against Animas.
