Gadsden and Rio Grande will play independent this year, others have done it in the past. When looking at classification alignment we should look more than just an enrollment number. Why not look at competitive level too? I get the old school, want to win, get better. True, but that is just not easy for all when you lack tradition (for the most part), jimmy and joes and money that some others have or can get.

I say that we should also consider competitiveness along with enrollment numbers. It'll help develop more schools and interest at schools that maybe have never had the interest. Just look what the short season and schedules have done for some schools.

Where to Start
First, let's go to three year blocks.
I took the 2019, 2018, and 2017 season for competitive two-year look. Record and Playoffs plus the level played at then until the first three year block with this look.
7 teams crowned state champs - same as now.
Will stay in class unless enrollment drops under 1400.
Move up and down based on success or lack of success in terms of wins/losses and playoffs. Get points for District championships, records (above .500), district placement, and playoffs along with playoff wins and state championships.
