Rio Rancho vs. Eldorado Scrimmage
By: Josh Grine of NMPreps.com
Recap: Eldorado looked solid tonight and played a few running backs (#33 and #40), who did work and had these powerful running backs that took a few Rio Rancho defenders to take them down. Eldorado also went with a pair of QB's throughout the first half of the scrimmage with #15 getting the nod at the start of the game and looked good at times. He had a nice fake to the big back #33 and a run to the outside for a gain of 30-yards. Had some good looks to his receivers for quick passes to the side. Also, #15 had a bomb of a pass to a big receiver for a 50-yard touchdown but it was called back. Rio Rancho played a couple defensive teams early, the first unit was solid getting to the QB and not allowing Eldo to move the ball early. Offense was spotty for a few possessions. They scored early off a screen pass but plenty of dropped balls. Had a nice 40-yard pass that hit the receiver in the hands but couldn't hang on to the ball. Eldorado is big and powerful but also had a quick unit that moved the ball well.
Note: sorry for the lack of responses and pictures. Actually dropped my phone. First time covering a football game and this happens. (haha) Anyhow, Rio Rancho had a great, big, loud crowd tonight.
