Clayton Jones will be leaving the Hobbs News Sun and will move to Kansas in two weeks as per his announcement on twitter. Obviously, I don't think anybody in Lea County will be pleased with this loss as he has been a treasure. When you think about it, he had a brutal job covering all five Lea County schools spanning over 80 plus miles and also covering all NMJC and the University of the Southwest teams. Not to mention the hundreds of miles that had to be traveled for many road games. It sounds like a great deal for him and he deserves the best so we all have to be happy for him despite the fact that we will hate losing him. Congratulations Clayton Jones and may you be as appreciated there as you are here.
