He also is a top defensive back. “Jimmy actually scored a touchdown as a freshman on varsity in 2012 during the state title game against Las Cruces. He is a Matador through and through and one of the top 5 players I’ve ever coached, especially because he is a 48 minute type player. At running back he has great vision, power, has the get-away speed, and then at safety he can make the big hit and has a chance to play college football.” commented Head Sandia Coach Kevin Barker on Gallegos.
