Good night folks! Well for the time of the column, good morning folks. Have some coffee and enjoy the recaps of the night at your one stop for the best place for New Mexico sports. I will run down the night and what we learned (or think we learned) from week-2 on the football scene.
TOP THREE STORIES TONIGHT
1. Artesia Winning and My Prediction: The Bulldogs protected the Bowl and beat a visiting team that has the potential to still be a top team in 6A. Oh yeah remember me saying that I thought the Bulldogs would go undefeated and I still feel that way.
2. Piedra Vista the NW Corner Glowing: The Panthers did something that I didn't think would happen (just me) and beating the Rockets. Does this District have two teams that are better than the Rockets? Miymura anyone? Who knows but it is an impressive win.
3. Espanola mercy ruling someone: Okay, it was to another program that is not big on the football side but still when I started working for preps in 2010 (before my break last season) the Sundevils were on the other end of nights that ended early. Kudos my nortenos!
GRINE PICK 'EM
Well, in my feature this morning (Friday) I did a bold pick that Artesia would win yet I pick Hobbs in pick. What the heck was I think trying to pick both teams. Well, I lost on points there and yes I want to win Pick 'Em. I really want to do better this year.
Highland - 200: Won, the losing streak is over.
Portales - 200: Won, the Rams are killer the RB is dirty.
Albuquerque - 200: Not played yet still 2-0
Gallup - 200: So far we think they won, 3-0
Alamogordo - 75: I want again, 4-0 boo-yah!
Roswell - 300: Okay I was smiling.... I got this.... they had the lead and lost it in the 2nd half. (4-1)
Clovis - 300: Well, me and Clayton joked this game was played with leather helmets. I won still (5-1)
Goddard - 100: Hmm.. Public service announcement I lost (attn: above). Grrr..... (5-2)
Hobbs - 400: How did I say they would win on Pick 'Em and lose on Morning Coffee. I still think Hobbs will shock (5-2)
Capital - 300: Is Moon okay?? I will have to wait for this upset...Ohhhh.....
Rio Rancho - 200: Well, my weekly I only pick NM vs. TX. I lost. (5-3)
Cleveland - 100: Points! Thought Coach Smith (hoops coach-my former coach) had a goal outside with the amount of points (6-3)
Mayfield - 400: Okay they had to have scored more than the Trojans hoops last season. (7-3)

Coming soon. Not many funny ones like last week. Geoff Grammer (abq journal) will sing the AHS fight song if they beat Mayfield. Not really but I suggested it.
