Going off of Kyle's top 3 teams thread.
How did your favorite team(s) become your favorite team(s)?
I have some pretty funny stories about a few of mine.
Dallas and L.A.Lakers were passed down from my father. He loves pro football and basketball and we've been die hard fans ever since I can remember.
Miami Hurricanes: I loved their helmets as a kid. When I was around 8, they played Michigan and I thought to myself who ever wins this game (battle of the helmets) will be my team. Miami won and it's been about the [[_]] ever since.
Kansas bball: I was in pee-wee league bball and wore the #25. My championship game was the day after the national championship between KU and OU. The stud for KU was Danny Manning, who also happened to wear the #25. Rock Chalk Jayhawk
Boston Red Sox: Baseball was the least favorite of my dad's sports. I never really had a team growing up. I liked players more than teams. Everyone around here seemed to be a Braves fan because they were always on TV, but I could never could get into them.
In the mid to late 90s the Yankees rose to power and a lot of people were jumping on the bandwagon. I personally never could stand the Yankees. Naturally I gravitated to their arch rival, Boston. They happened to have a left handed 1st basemen named Mo Vaughn who wore #42. I also was a left handed 1st basemen who wore #42. It was a natural fit. So in 1995 I started my love for the Sox.
