Top 13 New Mexico Football Stadiums
NMPreps.com's list of the top New Mexico high school football stadiums. The discussion is up for debate but the number one slot will be unmatched each year.
1) Bulldog Bowl (Artesia High School)
Site: Artesia, NM
Year Opened: 1967
Capacity: 6,500
Skinny: The Artesia High School football stadium is one to see, if you can play in the Bulldog Bowl it's an experience that you'll never forget.
2) Watson Memorial Stadium (Hobbs High School)
Site: Hobbs, NM
Year Opened: Unknown
Capacity: 15,000
Skinny: A monster of a stadium. When you drive up to Hobbs you are greeted by Ralph Tasker stadium and Watson Stadium.
3) Ruidoso Warrior Stadium (Ruidoso High School)
Site: Ruidoso, NM
Year Opened: --
Capacity: 1,700
Skinny: When they built Ruidoso Stadium, they picked the perfect location. The mountains and trees overlooking the stadium is a site to see. Ruidoso has been a place for college football teams to hold training camp (UTEP, UNM).
4) Lighting Stadium (Cleveland High School)
Site: Rio Rancho, NM
Year Opened: 2011
Capacity: 5,620
Skinny: The view from the home side is a beauty with the Sandia Mountains facing you. Love how the field house/weight room overlooks the stadium.
5) Leon Williams Stadium (Clovis High School)
Site: Clovis, NM
Year Opened: 1970
Capacity: 8,000
Skinny: "It was one of the best experiences since I've coached here, was going to play at Leon Williams."
6) The Wool Bowl (Roswell/Goddard High school)
Site: Roswell, NM
Year Opened: 1968
Capacity: 6,000
Skinny: You can't list the best place to play without putting The Wool Bowl on it. Plenty of State Championships surround the place.
7) Tiger Stadium (Alamogordo High School)
Site: Alamogordo, NM
Year Opened: --
Capacity: 5,667
Skinny: The Tigers have put money into creating a great facility and stadium. The overlook of the mountains is a great feature too.
8) Bear Stadium (Cloudcroft High School)
Site: Cloudcroft, NM
Year Opened: --
Capacity: 612
Skinny: One of the smaller stadiums on the list but like others the outside ambience of mountain trees solidify it on the list.
9) Hutchinson Stadium (Farmington/Piedra Vista High School)
Site: Farmington, NM

Capacity: 5,300
Skinny: A fan favorite to many that have either coached or called a game here. Historic feel to it.
10) Lovington Stadium (Lovington High School
Site: Lovington, NM

Capacity: 5,000
Skinny: Two things that you have to take into consideration with Lovington (and Hobbs) is the indoor facility connected to the stadium. Also, the blue turf makes the appeal of this 5,000 seat stadium one to see.

Skinny: They put in new turf this summer and only adds to why this is one of my personal favorites. I love how the athletic building overlooks the stadium.
12) Rio Rancho Ram Stadium (Rio Rancho High School)

Skinny: Sort of a bowl feel to it. Very nice facility that was built for football.

Skinny: Similar to how Rio Rancho sits inside a bowl. Ivan Head stadium definitely has a great feel to it and without the track puts you right up to the playing field.
