1. Kameron Valencia, G, 6'2'' Eldorado HS
The Eldorado Eagles season has a pair of bright story lines. One is the 50-foot buzzer beater over ranked Hobbs. The second is in terms of the future. Valencia, is ranked number one on our countdown of top freshmen in the state of New Mexico. Valencia, hasn't seen much, if any, minutes this season but late this district season Valencia finally got the call. He poured in double-digits in points and his high basketball IQ was on display. Remember the name because he would start on a handful of programs.
2. Zanen Zeller, PG, 6'1'', Los Lunas HS
The last time we had two freshmen this good and with basketball IQs that could rank among the best in the state of New Mexico. Zeller, has a leg up as he is the son of one of the best girls basketball head coaches in New Mexico in Los Lunas' coach Marty Zeller. The 6'1'' point guard could be ranked among the Top 100 overall players regardless of classification. He sees the floor well, makes good decisions with the ball and could become a scoring point guard in the future.
3. DeAnte Bernard, G, 6'1'', Highland HS
DeAnte could become a special player in a few years but is part of the three top players in the state of New Mexico from the 2019 class with Valencia and Zeller. Had a breakout game early on this season with a 17 point performance. Will have to put work in to stay among the top players in the state. Averaging 4.1 points per game on the season in 16 contests.
