ABA 17s are in Vegas playing in the Vegas Baseball Classic (www.vegasbaseballclassic.net). The question came up of why UNM (or other schools) would say we would want you to play with "such and such" summer team. Not just the ABA...2 of their recruits are playing with the Ohio Warhawks. It's because they get to see them compete against the best of the best. I'm not posting this to be an ass...it has been brought up and I'm answering the question with only my opinion. And it shows that NM kids can compete. Yes there are some west Texas kids on this roster also. Of the 16 man roster 10 are from NM.

St. Louis Pirates W 5-2 (Braybrooks W)
Danville Hoots (CA) L 1-5
Orlando Scorpions W 4-2 (Schoepke SV)

The Scorpions have 18 DI commits on their roster and 13 of them are ACC/SEC commits.

Rest of the schedule:
Las Vegas Knights
Ohio Warhawks

On Saturday it breaks down to a single elim tourney.

The other pool is:
Midland Redskins
Evoshield Canes
Utah Marshals
California Baseball Academy
Texas Prospects National Team
Chicago Cubs Scout Team

I will get my one jab in...Cole Schoepke is not one of those "privileged club players". He works at Dion's year round to help his parents pay for the summer and another family (no need to name them) helps get Cole to where he needs to be. 100% BIG TIME KID. And getting the save and facing those types of hitters is going to do nothing but help out his HS team next year. Can't draw up a better confidence boost that his last 3 outings.
