Friday Takeaways
Life Support: Los Alamos gets a win over Artesia, 70-62 and is brought back to life. They have a couple intriguing wins and they are one of the teams that floats up and down the 8-16 range. St. Mikes also earned a big win last night over Portales, 67-65. These two games helped the teams in need. Artesia and Portales also take a small hit but adds to the uncertainties after top 3 teams in each classification.
Under-the-Radar Team: La Cueva beating Albuquerque, 89-87 at home on Friday night. The Bears have one of the better, under the radar wins in the state. They are playing well and could be the team that floats around and gets a 5-seed - maybe plays for a DC. Eldorado-LC rivalry finally back? It makes basketball in NM better if so.
The Divide Is Real (4A): Silver beat Santa Fe Indian, 60-40 on Friday night and, like in 5A, proved we have a divide. In 4A it's Hope, Silver, and Bernalillo - in that order - and then we have a cloudy 4-16. Santa Fe Indian could be more in the 4-8 range though but didn't help with Portales falling on Friday.
