MONDAY, FEBRUARY 3RD
Farmington (8-13) at Piedra Vista (5-15) highlight the Monday schedule in New Mexico high school basketball. This is more of a must-see in the region (NW) as both teams are on the outside of the rankings and in rebuilds.
TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 4TH
Bosque (15-2) at Sandia Prep (13-7)
Valley (12-6) at Albuquerque Academy (11-6)
Highland (10-7) at Bernalillo (8-11)
Del Norte (10-8) at Hope Christian (11-9)
Centennial (10-11) at Alamogordo (14-7)
Cibola (9-10) at Eldorado (16-3)
Portales (8-12) at Goddard (8-12)
Lovington (12-7) at Artesia (12-8)
Scoop: Sandia Prep is newly ranked number one in 3A hoops. They take on a number one challenger in Bosque. We are officially on District 6-4A watch this season. The three games are ranked 1A, 1B, 1C to watch tonight and we will see how they affect the rankings tonight. Cibola has played well lately and making another upset tonight could shake things up. Centennial and Alamogordo NEED every win and position in district play will be huge this season.
THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 6TH
Espanola Valley (13-7) at Taos (16-5)
FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 7TH
Volcano Vista (16-4) at Cleveland (18-3)
Roswell (16-6) at Clovis (15-7)
Hobbs (15-7) at Carlsbad (14-8)
Atrisco Heritage (14-6) at Cibola (9-11)
Las Cruces (21-1) at Centennial (11-11)
Alamogordo (14-8) at Gadsden (11-10)
Albuquerque (7-12) at Santa Fe (17-3)
5A Scoop: Another Volcano Vista-Cleveland game would seem overdone but this contest meeting for the third time in a month brings all the flare for a Thursday night in hoops. Roswell and Clovis are a battle for position in district but also a top-8 seed in March. Las Cruces and Centennial are going for the DC, which LC has nearly, already, locked it up. Trap game of the night is Albuquerque visiting Santa Fe.
Albuquerque Academy (11-7) at Del Norte (11-8)
Highland (11-7) at Hope Christian (11-10)
Artesia (13-8) at Portales (8-12)
Bernalillo (8-12) at Valley (13-6)
Gallup (16-5) at Kirtland Central (13-8)
Notes: All eyes are on district 6 this season with the amount of teams that are true contenders to win it all. Not only could six teams earn and deserve a top-8 seed we could see them make a run. The team in need of a win however, is the Bernalillo Spartans on the road at Valley.
