Amaya Lewis - Hobbs
NMpreps.com is proud to name Hobbs' junior guard Amaya Lewis our Week 14 Player of the Week. Amaya helped lead her fellow Lady Eagles to a 3-0 week that included wins against Mayfield and handing two straight losses to previously undefeated Carlsbad. In her game against Mayfield, Lewis posted 23 points. In her two games this week against Carlsbad, Lewis posted 19 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals and then followed with 20 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 assists in the tiebreaker on Saturday.

Joe Carpenter (Hobbs High School)
What a week it was for the Hobbs girls basketball team. First year head coach, Joe Carpenter and his Lady Eagles had to find a way to defeat Carlsbad not only once, but twice! The back-to-back wins against previously undefeated Carlsbad allowed for Hobbs to claim the District 3-6A regular season title after going 13-1 in district play, 26-1 overall. After the first loss, Coach Carpenter’s Lady Eagles have won 8 straight and are looking to cap off their district season with a district tournament championship. Congratulations to our Week 14 Coach of the Week, Coach Carpenter!
