Week 2: Most Likely To Upset
Joshua J Grine of NMPreps.com

Most likely to upset last week didn't go to well as most of the games were blowouts and not close to likely upsets. Today, we give a stab at the ten potential upset games.

Ranking the Upset Possibility

No. 10 Manzano (1-0) vs No. 9 Centennial (1-0), Friday

Okay, likely not an "upset" you expect as they are ranked so close to each other but in many cases this gap is wide. The Centennial Hawks, even in their first year of 6A, are a favorite to play far into the post season and have won 13 of their last 14 games. Manzano, projected as a team fighting to make the playoffs as a middle tier team in their own district. So this in my book would make for a big upset for Manzano.

No. 11 Volcano Vista (1-0) vs No. 6 Eldorado (0-1), Friday

Volcano Vista was on this list last week being the potential "upsetee". This week I like Volcano Vista as the best chance to pull an upset over a bruised Eldorado team that seen a 45-28 second half lead wipe away. Volcano Vista crushed Valley last week 43-0 making this Hawks team ready to take that leap into top-middle-tier.

No. 37 Del Norte (0-1) vs No. 24 Farmington (0-1), Friday

Neither team showed well on offense last weekend Del Norte falling 35-14, not scoring until the fourth quarter. Farmington went scoreless with a 20-0 loss to rival Piedra Vista. This week is the opportunity for either team to rebound from a week one false start. This could be an interest outcome that could dictate future non-district play as both were favorites to win their district.

Can No. 41 Gadsden pull another upset over No. 24 Roswell?
Does No. 15 Hobbs rebound with No. 5 Artesia?
Los Alamos ranked (No. 44), do they stay ranked with a match-up with No. 25 Moriarty?
