Grants took a halftime lead of 50-11 and it was all the Pirates from the get-go. The Pirates were led by top 5A player Richie Lucero who ended the night with 27 points for the Pirates. Post man Bradley Hatten scores 16 points as the Pirates win the opening game of the Eddie Pena Classic in Grants.
Los Lunas 61, Bernalillo 40
Hunter Wisneski led the way for the Tigers on Thursday night with 18 points on the win over Bernalillo, 61-40. Also in double figures for the Tigers was Martin Trujillo with 15 points on the night.
Gallup 51 Piedra Vista 42 - Eddie Pena Classic
The Gallup Bengals down early to the Panthers used a fourth quarter to avoid the potential upset by the Piedra Vista Panthers.
Mora 55, Laguna-Acoma 49
The Mora Rangers are on the rise as the beat one of the Top-5 teams in 3A basketball in the Laguna Acoma Hawks.
Tucumcari 59, Dexter 49
The Rattlers improve to 3-4 on the season with a much needed win over a Top-10 ranked team in 3A basketball.
