Several top-25 teams in action on Tuesday night of week five and a huge performance for a sophomore from the northwest corner.

Top-25 Box

No. 4 Grants 68, Bernalillo 62

The Pirates move to (3-0) on the season but had to fight for this 6-point win over former district rival Bernalillo (3-3). The Pirates went down early in this contest but rebound in the second half to come out with the victory. Bradley Hatten (SR/6'6) led the way for the Pirates with a season high 19-points.

No. 5 Onate 70, EP El Dorado (TX) 55
The Knights move to (6-3) on the season behind a huge night for senior Johnny McCants who poured in 32 points in the win. McCants also finished with 14-rebounds and 7 blocks on the night. Josh Harrison also put in 22 points on the evening.

No. 6 Carlsbad 53, Goddard 41
Goddard jumped out on the Cavemen and took a lead by the half but the Cavemen went to work on D, coming with the victory in the second half. Brendan Boatwright finished the night with 24 points followed by his twin tower in the paint Chris Johnson with 20 points.

No. 15 Gadsden 41, EP Cathedral (TX) 34

The Panthers went to work from behind the arch and it was Josh Bailey and Tomas Cano who led the Panthers to a victory over Cathedral on Tuesday night. The Panthers me to (9-4) on the season.

No. 20 Centennial 84, Deming 56

It was all the Centennial Hawks in this contest as they improve to (4-3) on the season. Bryce Rewalt led the way with 6 3-pointers on the night.

No. 21 Silver 48, Santa Teresa 42
The Silver Colts move to 4-1 on the season with a close six point win over Santa Teresa. The Colts were led by Josh Saenz who had 15 points on the night.

No. 22 Las Cruces 59, EP Montwood (TX) 42
Markus Collins put in 17-points to lead the Bulldawgs to a 59-42 victory over EP Montwood on Tuesday night. The Bulldogs even up at (4-4) on the season. Mike Uribe also in double figures with 12 points for the Dawgs.

Durango (CO) 63, No. 25 Farmington 46
One week into being ranked and the Scorpions are the only Top-25 team to fall on Tuesday night. David Riley led the way for the Scorpions who had 14 points on the night.

Outside the Top-25

Piedra Vista 85, Shiprock 74

It was the sophomore with the performance of the night for the Panthers who improve to 5-2 on the season. Sophomore Jarrett Graham put in a school record of 40-points on a hot shooting night. Graham also finished with 13 rebounds on the night. Cody Harvey also in double figures with 11 points. Andre Joe paced the night for the Chieftains of Shiprock with 21 points.

Los Lunas 64, Socorro 34
Martin Trujillo led the way for the Los Lunas Tigers with 25 points and 21 rebounds on the night. This one was all the Tigers from the start as they improve to (3-4) on the season.

Tularosa 60, Ruidoso 59
The Wildcats get a quality win over a 4A opponent on Tuesday night behind 19 points from Mike Sheridan. The Ruidoso Warriors were led by Randall Poorthunder who had 6 3-pointers on the night on his way to 25 points.

Hatch Valley 59, Chaparral 50
The Bears get a win over 5A Chaparral on Tuesday night to improve to 6-3 on the season. Estevan Esparza led the way with 17 points followed by Michael Castillo with 11 points for the Bears.
