Eric Coca, Capital HS: MVP of the Capital City Invite. Nightly the leader and solidifying himself as one of the top players in the state of New Mexico.
Tyren King, Farmington HS: King had 19 points to lead the Scorpions to their first championship at their Marv Sanders Invite since 2003. King also took home MVP honors for the tournament.
Matthew Begay, Gallup HS: Under the radar player to this point but Begay is a smooth player and nightly proved that he is the number two to the duo of him and Lowely of Gallup.
Daniel Amador, Roswell HS: It's hard not to place this young fella on the team after an impressive, maybe top performance of the season with 46-points in a win during the Hub City Tournament in Belen.
AZ Salazar, Espanola Valley HS: Salazar took home the MVP honors of the Sundevil invite for his consistent play each night for the Sundevils. Salazar had a game high 13-points of the championship.
Second Five
Tomas Cano, Gadsden HS: Every time you turn around Cano is having a top night for the Panthers as they are searching for respect around the state. Cano had a 25 point night and a 22 point night.
James Garcia, Pojoaque Valley HS: Another under the radar type of players who could place himself among the Top-25 players in the entire state as the outside shooting 6-4 wing is a talented player and he is only a junior.
Johnny McCants, Onate HS: Big games nightly with back to back double-doubles in the Joe Armijo Tournament. The Knights also took down the number one team in the state of New Mexico in Carlsbad with McCants having 23 points and 13 rebounds.
Anthony Chavez, Valley HS: Chavez again proves again why we consider him one of the top players in the state and maybe the best point guard in the state. Chavez is smooth off the dribble and makes senior decisions with the ball, yet the guard is only a sophomore.
Juan Hurt, Rio Rancho HS: Nothing can stop, Hurt, not even a busted lip as Hurt led the way for the Rams with a big game against Chaparral. Hurt was hot all day from the outside. Hurt had 16 points on the final night. Another duo like Begay as Hurt has Patterson.
