Sitting in the office yesterday talking with the guys...going over pitching scenarios.
If you are facing that team like Sandia, El Do, Hope, Carlsbad, Academy... do you throw your number 3 against their #1 and try to win a low scoring game? And if you lose you have a possible upper hand on Saturday. Worked well for Sandia last year.
One thought that came up is if you have that power #1 do you start him game two Saturday morning so it's easier to come back the same day on a low pitch count. Maybe he only throws 85 pitches in game 2...that leaves him ready to come back and close game 3. If he throws 85 on Friday that soreness will be a lot worse on Saturday with a nights rest.
Of course there are a ton of factors that determine this. I just don't think anybody is consistent enough offensively to have real confidence that you are going to walk out and just over power a team with the bats.
