Just going to throw this out there. We have a serious lack of defense in this state right now. La Cueva and Rio Rancho are the only two defenses out there right now that can dominate a game. Most other teams win with offense. Even Las Cruces, a bona fide title contender, has had trouble stopping people and mark my words it will catch up to them eventually. What is the problem? Admittedly we do have some pretty good offenses in the state, but to me a team's whole identity, including it's toughness and attitude, comes from a tough, aggressive, shut down defense. Defense gives you swagger. Defense allows the offense to play smart and under control. Defense wins championships. If I am building a team it all starts with defense.... That's my rant for the day.
