In the light of all the controversy and negative comments about the officiating throughout the state tournament, which is crazy because this was the best officiated state tournament in years, I would like to give a shoutout to the three women that officiated that tournament. The three women each called a boys championship, one on the 6A game, one on the 5A game, and one on the 1A game. They all did a phenomenal job and it showed that regardless of gender if you put work into your craft and do it for the kids on the court then anything is possible. Many officials get a negative view from fans and coaches but being friends with many officials (and my son being one) each and every one of the officials that were selected for the state tournament worked their asses off to make the experience for the kids the best ever. Officials understand what is at stake for these players so they do everything they can to make the game fair and safe for everyone. Thank you to the NMOA and the job done by all officials around the state for the work you do to make the games possible from November to March!
