2022 Record: 5-5 overall.
Best Case Scenario: 6-4 overall. The Jaguars shot through the ceiling and outplayed our best case scenario of 3 wins. That was both an underestimate of new hire Wax Garcia and the roster they had returning for their move into 6A football. The key wins last season -- Santa Fe (49-6), Albuquerque (36-20), Albuquerque Academy (17-0), and Los Alamos (42-14). They have an opportunity to win those four again along with being a heavy favorite over Grants (won 57-6 last season). The kicker for 6-wins would be the coin flip game against crosstown foe St. Mikes (28-24 loss in '22).
Worst Case Scenario: 3-7 overall. The Jaguars are much improved under head coach Garcia overall as a program. The Jaguars will need to plug in some new players, in new roles with graduation hitting them in key positions. The three games that they are true favorites -- Grants, Los Alamos, and Academy. Los Alamos and Academy will be a wait and see after a couple of weeks but the Jaguars should roll on opening night on the road in Grants.
