NMPreps.com 2015 Coach of the Year Award

Today, we release the names of our finalist for the 2015 NMPreps.com Coach of the Year award. This will be the first official volleyball head coach of the year award given out.

The Finalist
Steve Archibeque, La Cueva High School: In only his second season with the Lady Bears he has led them to a 18-0, 8-0 season and ranked number one in the state of New Mexico.

Marian Bennette, Onate High School: Has led a team that was nowhere on the map to a #2 ranking and 15-5, 8-0 season. She has done a remarkable job pyramid

Brian Ainsworth, Cleveland High School: A team that graduated plenty of players from the 2014 team and has them a playoff team and likely to get a top seed.

Heather Baca, Roswell High School: Baca has led the Lady Coyotes to a 18-2 season and a contender for the 5A title.

Jeanne Fairchild, St. Pius X: The Lady Sartans are ranked #2 in the state regardless of classification at 18-2, 7-0.

Sharleen Espinoza, Los Alamos High School: The Lady Hilltoppers are 17-3 on the season and quietly one of the top teams in 5A.

Al Rosen, Centennial High School: The Lady Hawks have lived up to the hype and the defending champs are 18-3 heading into the playoffs.

Amy Bell, Los Lunas High School: Bell has Tigers playing phenomenal and surprised people winning the district 3-6A title last night over Centennial, 3-2.

Audra Gentry, Sandia Prep: Gentry has a talented, young squad that could be great for a few years. They are 20-0 on the season and look unstoppable heading into the post season.

Kristen Scanlan, Texico High School: Scanlan has done an outstanding job leading the 3A school to 19-1 record, a Top-10 ranking in the NMPreps.com Top-25, regardless of classification. Something that is rare among any sports in New Mexico for a 3A team to beat a 6A and be ranked this high.

Note: We will be releasing the award winners during the weeks after the state tournament. Stay tuned as we release all finalist.
