Today, NMPreps.com releases it's Top 50 volleyball players for the 2015 season.


The state of New Mexico has a wealth of talent this season and with three players already committed to the next level we will try and highlight the 50 top players this season.

October 19th, 2015
No. 50 ROSE MOON
Santa Fe Waldorf (Santa Fe, NM) | Freshman | 5-foot-8 | OH
Moon, only a freshman that will graduate in 2019 is having a special season for a top team in her classification. With 228 kills (46.5%), 60 aces and 150 digs on the season it was hard to not take notice of a player putting those type of numbers up in her first varsity season. The 5'8 outside hitter has plenty to improve on the next four years but we are sure you will her this name for a few years.

No. 49 ELLIE BREEDEN
St. Mike's (Santa Fe, NM) | Junior | 6' | MB

Breeden, is quietly helping the Lady Horsemen this season into what should be a state tournament birth with great play down the stretch. Breeden has 66 kills and 133 (leads the state) blocks on the season. Likely, an all-state selection for Breeden this season but her work is still in progress into the post season.

No. 48 LEAH WEATHERS
Goddard HS (Roswell, NM) | Junior | S

Weathers, is considered one of the best when it comes to assists in New Mexico. Currently she leads her team with 398 on the year along with 184 digs on the season. Weathers plays for one of the top teams in Goddard High School and will hope to lead her team into the post season.

No. 47 CELESTE NARANJO
Espanola Valley HS (Espanola Valley, NM) | Senior | 5'2" | S

Naranjo, is having an outstanding season for the 5A Espanola Valley Lady Sundevils. As of today she has 141 digs, 53 aces and an outstanding 570 assists on the season. The Lady Sundevils are fighting on the bubble to make the post season but Naranjo has definitely held her own.

No. 46 KAYLA LEDEZMA
Artesia HS (Artesia, NM) | Senior | 5'4" | L

Ledezma, plays for the 11-5 Artesia Lady Bulldogs who are setting up for a spot in the 2015 post season. Ledezma has been a huge part to the Lady Bulldogs success this season. Currently she has 372 digs on the season but also bringing plenty of leadership along with the intangible things for the team this season.

No. 45 LEXIE JACKSON
Farmington HS (Farmington, NM) | Junior | 5'2" | L

Jackson a capitan for the Farmington Lady Scorpions has helped the squad to a (9-7, 3-1) start to the season and looking to make a late season push into the post season. Jackson has had a stellar start to the season with 437-digs and 288 serve receptions on the season to this point.

No. 44 PEYTON LINTHICUM
Valencia HS (Los Lunas, NM) | Senior | 5'11" | OH

Linthicum has helped the Valencia Lady Jaguars to a 6-10, 2-4 start to the season and currently has her team on the bubble for the 5A post season. Peyton has done a lot for the team including 193 kills, 150 digs, and 174 serve receptions on the season. We hear nothing but solid things about this Peyton this season and helping her team.

No. 43 HAYLEY TORRES
Los Lunas HS (Los Lunas, NM) | Sophomore | 5'7" | OH

Torres is part of a talented sophomore class in New Mexico and plays for one of the top 5A teams in the state. The Los Lunas Lady Tigers are currently (11-4, 5-1) on the season and vying for a top seed. Torres only a sophomore playing with talented upperclassmen but she has done well in several areas across the board with 92 kills, 130 digs, and 30 aces.

No. 42 ASHLYNN TRUJILLO
Los Alamos HS (Los Alamos, NM) | Senior | 5'5" | DS, L

Trujillo a senior on one of the top teams in 5A volleyball season has helped the Lady Hilltoppers to a 14-3, 5-0 start to the 2015 season. She leads the team in digs (274) and serves received (287) this season. The Lady Hilltoppers are becoming a favorite to win the state tournament this season and Trujillo has been a major part in that.

No. 41 GEORGIA WILLIE
Farmington HS (Farmington, NM) | Senior | 5'6" | OH

Willie is the second Farmington Lady Scorpion on the board for the NMPreps.com Top 50 volleyball players for 2015. She has teamed up with Jackson to lead the Lady Scorpions to a 9-7 season and hopefully for a post season birth. She currently leads the team in kills with 137, aces with 16 and top-3 in digs with 187.

No. 40 BRANDEE FULGENZI
Robertson HS (Las Vegas, NM) | Sophomore | OH

Fulgenzi, had a stellar season at Santa Fe High School last season before transferring to Robertson High School this season. Fulgenzi has 122 kills, 90 digs and 22 aces on the season for the Lady Cardinals. Robertson High School is fighting for a playoff spot in 4A volleyball right now, they sit at 9-7, 2-2 on the season. One of the top sophomores in the state the sky is the limit for Brandee Fulgenzi and she will be a name to become familiar with the next two years.

No. 39 MADISON LEYVA
Santa Teresa HS (Santa Teresa, NM) | Junior | OH

Leyva is a new name out to the list but has been a consistently top player all season. The Lady Desert Warriors have been playing well and have a 12-5, 4-3 record, vying for a playoff spot out of District 3-5A. Leyva has 129 kills and 121 digs on the season up to this point. Madison Leyva plays in a top district but still a name to reckon with this season.

No. 38 NIKOLE BOUMA
Manzano HS (Abq, NM) | Senior | 5'9"

Bouma is one of the first names for the Albuquerque-Metro area led teams. The Lady Monarchs are 8-8, 2-4 on the season. Bouma has 173 kills, 173 digs and 26 aces on the season and she has quietly been one of the top players in the state and classification. The Lady Monarchs will need a big upset win if they want to make the post season but that shouldn't hinder the season Bouma has had this season.

No. 37 SHAYLEE GRIFFIN
Goddard HS (Roswell, NM) | Senior | MB

Griffin has been one of the best players in 5A that you haven't heard much about this season. Griffin might be a bit underrated at 37 but still one of the best players in the state of New Mexico. With 244 kills, 49 blocks (28 solo) and 23 aces, Griffin is a name we could see on post season awards for volleyball in the district and classification.

No. 36 KAITLYNN ROMERO
Espanola Valley HS (Espanola Valley, NM) | Senior | 5'8" | OH

Romero is another top notch player that is doing what she can to get her team into the post season. The Lady Sundevils are 10-7, 3-2 on the season and Romero is a big part of the success this season. Romero currently has 241 kills, 51 digs and a .333 hit percentage. Romero has been a multi-sport athlete and should see her name among the rest for awards this post season.

No. 35 DEANNA BUSTOS
West Las Vegas HS (Las Vegas, NM) | Senior | 5'8" | S, L

A three sport athlete, Deanna Bustos, leaves her mark on the volleyball scene as one of the top players in the state this season. She leads the (16-1, 4-0) West Las Vegas Lady Dons in what could be a top seed this post season. Bustos leads her team in aces with 67 and assists with 488, a stat that puts her near the top of the entire state.

No. 34 SAMANTHA TUTON
Mayfield HS (Las Cruces, NM) | Senior | 5'11" | MB

Part of a duo that you will see listed today for being the face of the Lady Trojans this season. Tuton has been a veteran for the Lady Trojans and have helped lead them to their 13-6, 4-3 record this season. The Lady Trojans are looking to make the post season this season and Tuton has been a huge factor.

No. 33 KAMERYN BAKER
Mayfield HS (Las Cruces, NM) | Senior | 5'10" | MH

When we hit the volleyball scene in August, one name that was mentioned on a couple conversations was Kameryn Baker. Baker, has been a letterman for the Lady Trojans and active on the club volleyball scene. Baker, consistently among the top of her teams stats on a nightly basis.

No. 32 JENNA BUTCHER
Artesia HS (Artesia, NM) | Senior

Jenna Butcher is a name that you have seen consistently this season. She leads her team in kills at 183 and blocks. The Lady Bulldogs are 12-6, 2-2 this season and fighting for a post season spot. Butcher, is one of the best players in New Mexico for 2015 and the further they go into November the more you will see her name associated with post season awards.

No. 31 CELESTE COX
Las Cruces HS (Las Cruces, NM) | Junior | 6'0" | MH

Cox, a NMPreps.com Player of the Week award winner early this season is a new name that has been solid this season. Cox plays for the 9-9, 3-3 Las Cruces Lady Bulldawgs who are currently on the bubble to make the post season. Cox, was a surprise early this season in the talented Las Cruces area but will be one to reckon with for another season.


No. 30 SIERRA FOLEY
Los Alamos HS (Los Alamos, NM) | Senior | 5'10" | OH

Foley, has been a major part to the success the Lady Hilltoppers have had this season going (15-3, 6-0) heading into the final week of the regular season. Foley, currently leads her team in kills with 250 and follows that up with 25 total blocks, 101 digs and 30 aces. You will likely see the Los Alamos Lady Hilltoppers playing late into the post season.

No. 29 SAMANTHA MELTON
Los Alamos HS (Los Alamos, NM) | Senior | 5'7" | S

The third part of the dominate trio for the Lady Hilltoppers, Samantha Melton, is one of the top players in the state of New Mexico. She currently leads her team in digs at 200 and assists with 522. She has the Lady Hilltoppers ranked high on the NMPreps.com Team Rankings leading into the final week of the regular season and could be in line for several season ending awards.

No. 28 KAITLYN MILLS
Onate HS (Las Cruces, NM) | Senior | 5'10" | MB

The Onate Lady Knights have been the surprise rise of a team this season and Mills is part of the reason. Mills has 92 kills and 74 blocks on the season. The Knights are in position for a late post season push at 13-5, 6-0 along with a District 3-6A regular season title.

No. 27 JULIANNA ZAMORA
St. Pius X (Abq, NM) | Junior | OH

A new name this season Julianna Zamora has 'quietly' been a junior on the rise. She currently has helped lead the Lady Sartans to a 16-2, 5-0 season. Zamora has 155 kills (team leader) and providing depth in other spots on the floor. You will likely see her name among the post season awards and will get to see her play again next season as she is one of the top players to return next season.

No. 26 BRIANA BUSTILLOS
Gadsden HS (Anthony, NM) | Senior | 5'4" | OH

Bustillos is one of the names you should know at this point as she has been playing solid through the season. Bustillos has the Lady Panthers on the bubble for the post season at (9-9, 3-3) but that shouldn't reflect how well she has played in 2015. Bustillos has 170 kills (leads team), 26 aces, 189 digs, and 14 blocks.

No. 25 ALYSSA ADAMS
Moriarty HS (Moriarty, NM) | Sophomore | OH

Adams, is high on the list for only being a sophomore. Adams, has been discussed several times on our coverage this season. An all around top athlete that has the tools to be one of the best players come her senior season. The Lady Pintos are (14-5, 2-3) and hopefully for a playoff spot as the season finishes. Adams leads her team in kills (183), second in digs (236) and third in total blocks (39).

No. 24 CAMRYN NELSON
Sandia Prep (Abq, NM) | Sophomore | 5'9" | OH

The second of four sophomores in the twenties that has improved her stock throughout the 2015 season. Nelson, is one of the rising studs of New Mexico and has helped guide her team to a 18-0, 6-0 season. Nelson is second on the team for kills (166), second in aces (33) and third in digs (63).

No. 23 CATHERINE KELLY
Sandia Prep (Abq, NM) | Sophomore | 5'7" | OH

Kelly is part of the dominate duo for the Lady Sundevils and third of four sophomores that will be highlighted today. As mentioned above Kelly is a huge factor in the perfect season for the Lady Sundevils who currently sit at 18-0 and the favorites to win the 4A title. Kelly leads the Lady Sundevils in kills (179), has 24 aces and second in digs (80).

No. 22 ANNABELLE KUBINSKI
La Cueva HS (Abq, NM) | Sophomore | 5'11" | OH

Along with the other three sophomores there is plenty of room to improve the next two years as the three sophomores are on the map. Kubiniski, right now has been as solid as it comes in the state for volleyball players, currently playing on a team with two division one players its without question come 2017 season (graduates 2018) she will see her name among them. Kubiniski currently leads the team in kills (154) and leads in blocks (126) an impressive situation for an undefeated team that is ranked number one overall in the state.

No. 21 DESTINY RUIZ
Centennial HS (Las Cruces NM) | Senior | 5'9" | OPP

Ruiz has been a top all around prospect for the Lady Hawks who currently sit at (17-2, 8-1) and ranked No. 2 in 5A volleyball. Ruiz was an all-state player last season and will likely be among plenty of the post season awards. Ruiz, is second on the team in kills (95) and has 34 blocks this season. She brings plenty to the table for the Lady Hawks and will make a run to another title this season.

No. 20 ALEXIS BENDA
Onate HS (Las Cruces, NM) | Junior | 5'10" | OH

No other player has had her stock rise like Alexis Benda who could arguably be higher on the list. Benda, was mentioned but not on the radar this preseason but after leading the Lady Knights to a 15-5, 8-0 season behind a consistent performance nightly she is now in the Top 20 of volleyball players in New Mexico. Benda, has 253 kills, 45 aces and 106 digs on the season. You can expect to see this junior high on the charts next season and on plenty of our post season awards.

No. 19 LIBBY FIDEL
Albuquerque Academy (Abq, NM) | Senior | 5'4" | L
Fidel a 2014 All-State player will again find herself among the best libero's this coming season. Fidel leads the Lady Chargers in digs with 339 and 51 assists. The Lady Chargers are heading into the 5A post season at 13-7, 3-3 and hoping to make a late post season run. Fidel, had a season high 33-digs in a contest against Moriarty late in the season.

No. 18 HANNAH WARREN
Eldorado HS (Abq, NM) | Senior | 5'9" | L
Another player in the top-20 who could be argued to be placed lower (1-17) in the player rankings. Warren, plays for one of the top programs in New Mexico in the Eldorado High School Eagles. The Eagles are 11-7, 5-3 on the season and will be a post season team in 2015. Warren, has 273 digs, 313 serve receptions and 13 aces.

No. 17 CELESTE CARMIGNANI
La Cueva (Abq, NM) | Junior | 5'8" | MH
Carmignani has been considered one of the top juniors all season long and she has lived up to the hype. She plays for the number one team in the state of New Mexico for the La Cueva Lady Bears who are currently 18-0, 8-0. Carmignani, has 106 kills, 104 blocks and 52 aces on the season. She plays with plenty of talent at La Cueva but she separates herself in a crowded position of talent. She should gain post season awards, holding her own and compared to other MH's in the state.

No. 16 ABBEY WILLISON
Sandia (Abq, NM) | Junior | 6'1" | MB
Another junior in New Mexico that will only boost her stock before next season. Willison has 58 kills, 76 total blocks and 4 aces for games entered (26 sets). She currently plays for the Sandia Lady Matadors who are 11-7, 5-3 heading into the post season. The Matadors are ranked in the top-10 in 6A volleyball.

No. 15 LINNEA ROMERO
Sandia HS (Albuquerque, NM) | Junior | 5'2" | L

Linnea Romero plays for the Sandia High School Lady Matadors who are currently 11-7 overall and 5-3 in district 2-6A. The Lady Matadors a number one seed last season in the post season and Romero only a sophomore played huge role in that season. This year Romero's numbers are already way up and she has improved huge from last season to this season. She leads the team in digs at 250, 22 assists and 225 serve receiving all in the regular season.

No. 14 ARIEL GERUNTHO
Cleveland HS (Rio Rancho, NM) | Senior | 5'9" | MH

Ariel Geruntho has placed the Lady Storm of Cleveland High School on her back and put them at 11-9, 6-2 in district 1-6A play. The Lady Storm tied for the regular season district placement but with tie breaker rules missed on the chance to play for the title. Geruntho, a senior, has helped the Storm all season and one of the players on the rankings who has had to lead the team and provide consistent play nightly. Her stats are incomplete at the time but has 55 kills during the district slate.

No. 13 ALINA VANECEK
Albuquerque Academy (Albuquerque, NM) | Senior | 5'11" | OH

Vanecek plays in 5A volleyball for the Albuquerque Academy Lady Chargers who are currently 13-7 and 3-3 in district 5-5A. The Lady Chargers will be a post season team this season and a favorite to go far. Vanecek, a league leader in plenty of areas on the stat sheet. Vanecek has 320 kills, .400 hitting percentage, and 157 digs along with 49 aces.

No. 12 KELSEY BELL
Los Lunas HS (Los Lunas, NM) | Senior | 5'7" | S

Bell, plays for the Los Lunas Lady Tigers of 5A volleyball. The Lady Tigers are currently 16-4, 10-1 in district 3-5A. Bell, a returning first team all-state player has been argued as one of the best setters in the state regardless of classification. Bell has definitely lived up to the hype and played well all season long. Bell has 721 assists, 37 aces, 151 digs and 65 kills.

No. 11 EMILY BUFORD
St. Pius X (Albuquerque, NM) | Senior | MH

Buford one of the top players coming into the season plays for the number two team in the state of New Mexico, the St. Pius X Lady Sartans who sit at 18-2, 7-0. The Sartans are favorites heading into the post season and will be one of the teams to watch as they go for the title. Buford, is a huge reason the Sartans are where they are this season behind 146 kills, a .440 hitting percentage and 47 total blocks.

No. 10 JORDAN BREDING
Volcano Vista HS (Albuquerque, NM) | Senior | MH

Jordan Breding has placed herself among the best at her position (L) this season. Breding has 290 digs, 365 serve receptions and 39 aces on the year. The Volcano Vista Lady Hawks are 13-7, 6-2 on the season and the 4-seed in the state tournament. Breding has been on the Top 50 performers all season long and is one of the most consistent players on the year. She had a season high 36 digs in a match against Cleveland early this season.

No. 9 KAYLA GRIEGO
St. Pius X (Albuquerque, NM) | Junior | S

Griego a first-team all-state player in 2014 was one of the top players coming into the season. Griego again played well all season long and has led her team into the post season as the 1-seed. Griego currently has 406 assists, 113 digs and 29 aces on the season. The Sartans are 19-2, 8-0 on the season and Kayla Griego has been a huge part of what this program has done.

No. 8 BRIGETTE LOWE
Eldorado HS(Albuquerque, NM) | Senior | OH

Lowe is another top 6A player that will find herself among the rest on the NMPreps.com Miss Volleyball candidates. Lowe has helped the Lady Eagles to a 12-8, 5-3 season and will be 8-seed in the state tournament starting this week. Lowe has 281 kills, 32 aces and 86 digs on the season. Lowe has been the focus for the Eagles all season and her play combined with leadership has helped the Eagles into one of the best teams in the state.

No. 7 ANNA DETRY
La Cueva HS (Albuquerque, NM) | Junior | DS

One of the top juniors in the state of New Mexico Anna Detry has helped lead the Lady Bears to a 19-0, 8-0 season along with being the 1-seed in the state tournament. Detry is an early commit to Colorado State University a top college team. Detry's stat line reads, 189 digs, 125 serve receptions, 19 aces.

No. 6 RAELYNN EDGE
Sandia HS (Albuquerque, NM) | Senior | S

Edge had plenty of hype coming into the season and has played well all season long. The Lady Matadors are the 7-seed in the state tournament this week after posting a 13-8, 5-3 season. Edge has 474 assists, 149 digs and 63 kills on the season doing a lot for the Matadors wherever she is called at. Edge will be among post season awards and one to watch this week at the state tournament.

No. 5 SAVANNAH BUSH
Centennial HS (Las Cruces, NM) | Senior | MB, OH

Rounding out the top-5 players in the state of New Mexico for the 2015 season we head to one of the best teams in the south. Savannah Bush a senior for the Centennial High School Hawks had a fantastic career that featured a State Title in 2014 and runner-up in 2015. Bush finished this season with 437 kills, 92 solo blocks and a .338 hitting percentage.

No. 4 LYRIC ELLISON
Volcano Vista HS (Albuquerque, NM) | Senior | OH

By far one of the best players in the state of New Mexico and could make the argument for being the best player in the state. Ellison had an outstanding career for the Lady Hawks and she helped guide them to a Final Four in 2015. Ellison finished the season with 308-kills, 182-digs and 14 aces. Uncommitted at this time but surely a next level player.

No. 3 JORDAN HOLLAND
Los Lunas HS (Los Lunas, NM) | Senior | MH

One of the best overall athletes in the state of New Mexico, Jordan Holland finished a storied volleyball career leading the Lady Tigers to a 2015 State Championship. Jordan Holland finished the season with 338-kills, 35 aces, 69 blocks and a .324 hitting percentage. An amazing player to watch and a player that could be a next level athlete in a few sports.

No. 2 HANNAH THOMPSON
Cibola HS (Albuquerque, NM) | Junior | MH

The University of Notre Dame commit Hannah Thompson a captain for the Lady Cougars was one of the most athletic players in the state. Thompson ranked #2 on our Top-50 players this season could jump out the gym with athleticism. No stats are submitted by her coach but she was the leader in several categories for her team this season.

No. 1 ABIGAIL STOMP
La Cueva HS (Albuquerque, NM) | Senior | S

Abigail Stomp comes in as the number one ranked player on the inaugural NMPreps.com Top 50 Volleyball Player Rankings. Stomp, a Northern Arizona commit led her team to the 2015 State Championship finishing the season a perfect 22-0. Stomp, finished with 727-assists, 198-digs, and 99 kills along with 86 aces.
