1st Rd: (5) Santa Fe at (4) Volcano Vista, Tues, 7:30p
2nd Rd: 5/4 winner at (3) Rio Rancho, TBA
Semi-Final: 2nd Rd Winner at (2) Seed
Championship: Semi-Final Winner at (1) Seed
Prediction: This district, top-to-bottom is the best district in terms of quality of teams. Likely, a fifth match-up between Cleveland and Cibola but how much fun would that be in a prediction for a district like this. Winner - Volcano Vista
District 2-6A
1st Rd: (3) Eldorado vs (4) Highland, Wed, 5:30, at La Cueva
1st Rd: (2) La Cueva vs (5) Manzano, Wed, 7:15, at La Cueva
Semi-Final: 1st Round Winners, Fri, 7:15p
Championship: Semi-Final Winner at (1) Sandia, Sat, 7:15p
Prediction: Sandia is one of the hottest teams in the state right now and I don't see any slowing down in the championship on Saturday. One team, for unknown reasons, I like is Highland if any team was going to make the upset. Since February 5th they are 3-3 with quality wins over Rio Grande and La Cueva.
District 3-6A
1st Rd: (5) Deming 49, (4) Mayfield 48
2nd Rd: (5) Deming at (3) Las Cruces, TBA
Semi-Final: 2nd Rd Winner at (2) Gadsden, TBA
Championship: Semi-Final Winner at (1) Onate, TBA
Prediction: Our pick is Onate. Not to sure who to take in our upset pick possibility but if we had to take one Las Cruces is playing well lately. However, Onate has won each district contest by at least 18 points.
District 4-6A
Play-Off Game: Carlsbad 66, Hobbs 49
1st Round: (3) Alamogordo vs (4) Clovis
Semi-Final: 1st Round Winner at (2) Hobbs
Championship: Semi-Final Winner at (1) Carlsbad
Prediction: Carlsbad. However, if we have an upset pick to either win the tournament and send the bracket into chaos is the Alamogordo Tigers. I see them playing in the title game at the very least.
District 5-6A
1st Rd: (5) West Mesa at (4) Atrisco, Tues, TBA
2nd Rd: 1st Rd Winner at (3) Rio Grande, Wed, 7p
Semi-Final: 2nd Rd Winner at (2) Albuquerque, TBA
Championship: Semi-Final Winner at (1) Valley, Sat, TBA
Prediction: Valley has to be the favorite, currently riding a 6-game win streak. If we had to take an upset we would go with (3) Rio Grande.
