Arizona has started a new playoff system this year. They pick the top 8 teams in the state from classes 4A, 5A & 6A as determined by computer rankings. These 8 teams are seeded 1-8 and vie for the Open state champion. The winner of the Open state championship will be declared the one and only state champion. All teams not selected for the Open championship will play to win their conference championship. Example 6A conference champion, 5A conference champion and 4A conference champion. Very interesting concept. Thoughts?
