Another title went to the orange and black of Artesia High School. Today, we take a look at the contenders to dethrone the 2015 state champions.
No, the option to buy Artesia is not a pick either. However, that is likely a heavy favorite pick.

Three Most Likely Contenders
Alamogordo Tigers: Buy
I'm not to sure if you will find a person who doesn't like the Alamogordo Tigers in the state of New Mexico. The Tigers had success last season and now move down to 5A football from 6A. The Tigers return Kyle Hooper a quarterback who threw for 2,800-yards and 30-touchdowns. So right now if you want to take a buy on an great buy the Tigers are your choice. Hooper combined with a wealth of talent including a top WR who had over 800-yards receiving and it's almost a must buy.
Los Lunas Tigers: Hold
Okay, let's not state the obvious on why people should buy the Tigers. Well, why not they return O'Maury Samuels a top running back in the state of New Mexico who committed to Michigan. However, the plethora of talent doesn't stop there as they also have TE/LB Trevor Brohard returning next season. The Tigers are a buy by many in the state but the reason we had to hold over the buy in Alamogordo was the QB battle. Who gets the nod to start? Can they mimic or improve on graduate QB Anthony Sanchez who had 1,073 yards passing and 415 yards rushing?
Goddard Rockets: Sell
Wait.... don't hit reply so quickly, we had to buy one, sell one and hold one. Naturally, we went with the QB with the arm for Alamgordo, the name known across the nation at RB for Los Lunas so in terms of contenders we had to sell the Rockets. Why? Well, they just named a head coach (yes I am aware he's been in the program). Turnover always has an adjustment time and this could be some adjustment time. The names to watch for will come soon during the season but we start with athlete Devon Quiroz who is a Top-10 returning prospect from 2017 classification.
