Goodbye to 2015: The Volleyball Wrap

NMPreps.com wraps it's first season covering the state of New Mexico volleyball teams. An excited season that had a perfect team, the "underdog" win the title in 5A and a near to perfect team in 4A.
Today, we take a look at our post season awards and post some highlights from the season.
NMPreps.com 2015 Awards
Coach of the Year - Steve Archibeque, La Cueva High School
The first winner of the NMPreps.com Coach of the Year award goes to Steve Archibeque who led the La Cueva Lady Bears to a 22-0 perfect record and 2015 State Championship. Archibeque, guided a La Cueva volleyball program to their first state championship in the history of the school. The Lady Bears will send a couple prospects to the next level along with a talented returning roster that could have more by the time they graduate. Archibeque only in his second season will easily be regarded as one of the best coaches in the state for years to come.

5A Coach of the Year - Jeanne Fairchild, St. Pius X High School
4A Coach of the Year - Audra Gentry, Sandia Prep School
Top Setter - Abigail Stomp, La Cueva High School
The number one ranked player in the state of New Mexico receives the award for NMPreps.com's Top Setter in the state of New Mexico. Stomp, was on top of the state in several categories on the stat sheet.
Runner-Up: Kayla Griego, St. Pius X High School.
Top Outside Hitter - Lyric Ellison, Volcano Vista High School
Ellison, clearly one of the best players in the state and will take home the award as NMPreps.com's Top Outside Hitter in New Mexico. Ellison had 308-kills and 182 digs.
Runner-Up: Catherine Kelly, Sandia Prep
Top Right Side - Brigette Lowe, Eldorado High School
Lowe, was one of the most underrated players for carrying the Lady Eagles of Eldorado as far as she did. Lowe is a terrific player and takes home the award as NMPreps.com Top Right Side in the State of New Mexico.
Runner-Up: Nicole Perry, St. Pius X
Top Middle Hitter - Jordan Holland, Los Lunas High School
Holland, helped guide the Los Lunas Lady Tigers to the 2015 state title and will also take home the award for NMPreps.com Top Middle Hitter in the state.
Runner-Up: Ariel Gerunthro, Cleveland High School
Top Libero - Anna Detry, La Cueva High School
The junior is the only from the class of 2017 to take home an award today, Detry takes home the NMPrpes.com Top Libero award for the season.
Runner-Up: Linnea Romero, Sandia High School.
