PED just released the 2016-17 enrollment figures. When I average these 2016-17 figures with the past two years, the 9th-12th enrollments shake out like what I posted below. I am not sure which numbers NMAA will use when it discusses realignment but these 3-year averages could provide some clue as to how things will shake out. For 6A the most interesting changes could be Capital rising into the top 24 while Highland drops into 5A. Will both Highland and Valley petition to play up? Not sure. According to these numbers, Portales could potentially move into 5A. I did not calculate 3 year averages for all of 4A. Mayfield and Las Cruces HS also saw enrollment growth as well. These numbers do not factor in alternatives or charters and I am not sure NMAA uses those numbers anyway because if they did Alamogordo would still be 6A. Academy and Pius numbers are approximates.
