These finalists, nominated by coaches, NMPreps staff, and premium members, represent the best quarterbacks in the state. Their leadership, production, and ability to deliver in clutch moments have made them stand out. Cast your vote today to decide the Quarterback of the Year!

Blake Spencer, QB, 2025, Bloomfield High School
Blake Spencer capped a stellar season by leading the Bloomfield Bobcats to the Class 4A state championship. Spencer threw for 3,092 yards and 43 touchdowns with only five interceptions, completing 67.9% of his passes. His consistent performance made him one of the most efficient and prolific quarterbacks in New Mexico.

Cameron Dyer, QB, 2025, La Cueva High School
A true dual-threat, Dyer was the engine of La Cueva’s 12-1 season. He threw for 2,361 yards and 30 touchdowns while rushing for 1,360 yards and an additional 20 scores. Dyer’s ability to dominate through the air and on the ground cemented his status as one of the most dynamic quarterbacks in the state.

Jacob Palomino, QB, 2025, Roswell High School
Palomino quietly led Roswell to a 12-1 season and the Class 5A state championship. In the title game, he accounted for three touchdowns—two rushing and one passing. Palomino’s leadership and versatility were key to the Coyotes’ championship run.

Jordan Hatch, QB, 2026, Cleveland High School
Hatch displayed remarkable maturity and composure as he led Cleveland to the Class 6A state championship. The junior quarterback threw for over 2,100 yards and 30 touchdowns, including two crucial scores in the title game. Hatch’s poise under pressure makes him one of the state’s rising stars.

Zaiden Davis, QB, 2025, Centennial High School
Davis was one of New Mexico’s most explosive dual-threat quarterbacks, throwing for 1,369 yards and 15 touchdowns while rushing for 1,600 yards and 27 scores. His leadership propelled Centennial to an 11-1 record and a Class 6A semifinal appearance.

Elijah Melancon, QB, 2025, Eunice High School
Melancon led the state in passing yards with 3,338, throwing 43 touchdowns and completing 60.8% of his passes. His production was unmatched as he guided Eunice deep into the playoffs.

Isaiah Carpenter, QB, 2027, St. Pius X High School
As only a sophomore, Carpenter threw for 3,114 yards and 34 touchdowns, leading the Sartans to the Class 4A state championship game. His poise and maturity beyond his years make him one of the most promising young quarterbacks in New Mexico.

Izac Cazares, QB, 2025, Artesia High School
Cazares threw for 2,854 yards and 38 touchdowns, completing 61.4% of his passes. His leadership and precision were instrumental in Artesia’s return to the Class 5A state championship game.

Isaiah Ocampo, QB, 2025, Socorro High School
Ocampo was a true dual-threat, passing for 2,593 yards and 36 touchdowns while rushing for 1,291 yards and 9 scores. His all-around performance made him one of the most complete quarterbacks in the state.

Matthew Prudencio, QB, 2025, Lovington High School
Prudencio threw for 2,761 yards and 33 touchdowns, completing 66.6% of his passes. His accuracy and ability to protect the football helped Lovington secure another strong season.
