Alamogordo went (10-18, 1-5) in 2014-2015 and enter the season with a new head coach in Tom Shields.

Overview: Over the summer the thread on the new head boys basketball coach was one of the most talked about threads this off-season. The Tigers enter the season graduating six players from the 2014-2015 team. The Tigers will have some talent returning in DK Garrett a junior that contributed last season and was a third option for the team. Another prospect to keep an eye on is Willie McClinton who as a sophomore last season also played big minutes as part of what the Tigers did. The Tigers struggled on the road and defensively last season, two areas that are tough playing in the southeastern district/region.

Last Season
Record: 10-18, 1-5
Home Record: 7-7
Away Record: 3-10
Post Season: Missed the Playoffs
Points per game: 50.35 (1410)
Points against: 61.28 (1716)

Realistic Prediction: The Tigers made their hire last season and you could look at it either way. Right now we could see the Tigers struggling to maintain in a tough 6A district and playing for a new head coach. Our prediction is 5-9 wins and missing the playoffs for a second season. The talent will be there but the question will be the direction this team heads under Tom Shields.

District Champ: 10%
Playoff Team: 15%
Elite Eight: 1.2%
Final Four: 1.1%
Title Game: 1%

Returning Players: The Tigers do have some young rising talent in the program and this could be the factor in the season for the Tigers. They welcome back two players who played huge roles for the Tigers last season in Garrett and McClinton. They have a roster filled with young talent and replacing 6-seniors shouldn't be too difficult even though Josey Mills will be a difficult body to replace.
